DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
The Department of Health (DoH) provides leadership and coordination of health services to promote the health of all people in South Africa through an accessible, caring and high quality health system based on the primary healthcare (PHC) approach. The department contributes directly to achieving the government’s goal for a long and healthy life for all South Africans.
DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
The social development task is to develop and monitor the implementation of social policy that both creates an enabling environment for and leads to the reduction in poverty. We ensure the provision of social protection and social welfare services to all people who live in our land. We conduct research that develops the social indicators necessary for programme implementation and public accountability.
